Step 2: Preparing the Uterine Lining
Depending on your menstrual cycle and ovulation pattern, the doctor may simply assess endometrial thickness to determine an ideal time to transfer embryos. For others, however, a hormonal treatment may be needed. Estrogen helps thicken the endometrial lining, while progesterone makes it receptive for implantation.
Step 3: Embryo Thawing
Embryos are removed from the vitrification device and are carefully warmed using specially prepared solutions. These embryos are examined under a microscope to check if they have survived vitrification and thawing.
Step 4: Embryo Transfer Procedure
Our FET embryo transfer is a quick, outpatient procedure. You lie down, as you do during a gynecological exam. A speculum is used to get a clear view of the cervix. Using a thin catheter, the fertility doctor releases an embryo into the uterus. It’s usually painless, although some women experience mild discomfort.
Step 5: Pregnancy Test
After embryo transfer, Dr. Kiran will give you instructions about when you can take a home pregnancy test or visit the clinic for a beta-hCG blood test. The test detects hCG hormone in your blood to confirm pregnancy. If your pregnancy test is positive, you will get further instructions regarding follow-up visits and early scans.

Frozen embryo transfer protocol involves freezing the embryos once they have reached the blastocyst or other appropriate development stage. These are frozen rapidly through a process called vitrification, which prevents damaging ice crystal formation inside the cells.
Later, a woman’s uterine lining is prepared either through a natural/modified cycle or hormone replacement, and the frozen embryos are thawed and transferred into their uterus at an appropriate time.
