IUI vs IVF — Which Treatment Is Right?
IUI and IVF are modern ART procedures that have helped millions of couples in the world achieve their dream of parenthood. But how do you choose between the two? Both involve different steps and come with varying price tags.
IUI involves direct injection of concentrated sperm into your uterus. IVF, on the other hand, is a more complex process. It starts with ovarian stimulation and involves many steps in between until the eggs are fertilized and transferred into the uterus.
IUI is usually for mild infertility issues, when fallopian tubes are open. IVF bypasses the fallopian tubes altogether. For women with tubal blockage or damaged tubes, this could be an ideal treatment choice. It may also work for those with severe male-factor infertility, reduced ovarian reserve, or previous unsuccessful IUI cycles.
There’s no single better treatment. What may work for you depends on your reproductive health, medical history, pregnancy history, and the cause of infertility.
