Step 3: Trigger Injection

Step 4: Egg Retrieval
The most crucial stage of the test tube baby process is egg retrieval, where follicular fluid is aspirated and sent to the lab for oocyte retrieval. It’s performed under anesthesia and is usually painless, but mild cramping or bloating can occur afterward.
Step 5: Sperm Collection & Fertilization
The sperm sample is collected and prepared. It’s placed together with the retrieved eggs in a Petri dish and left overnight or for several hours for fertilization. Step 6: Embryo Culture
The fertilized eggs continue to develop into an embryo. However, not every retrieved egg is fertilized, and not every fertilized egg reaches the blastocyst stage. For the ones that are fertilized, the embryology lab becomes their home for the next 5-6 days.
Step 7: Embryo Transfer & Pregnancy Test
